In today’s fast-paced world, it can be tough to keep up with the friends who matter most. As we juggle work, family, and personal commitments, it sometimes feel impossible to stay connected. Yet, maintaining our friendships is crucial for our happiness and mental health. According to a study from the American Psychological Association, strong social connections can boost your mood and even improve your physical health. So, how can we bridge the gap when life feels overwhelming? Take the 7-day Friendship Challenge and let me know how it goes! Day 1: Compliment a Friend
Send a sincere compliment to a friend—something specific and heartfelt. It could be about their personality, skills, or the way they support others.
Day 2: Memory Lane
Share a funny or meaningful memory with a friend and reminisce about that moment together.
Day 3: Random Act of Kindness
Do something unexpected for a friend—send a small gift, write a kind note, or help them with something they’ve been struggling with.
Day 4: Deep Conversation
Have a conversation that goes beyond everyday small talk. Ask a friend about their dreams, fears, or the lessons they’ve learned in life.
Day 5: Friendship Adventure Plan a spontaneous activity with a friend—something fun, whether it’s grabbing a coffee, taking a walk, or trying a new hobby together.
Day 6: Words of Encouragement
Write a letter, text, or voice message encouraging a friend. Let them know you appreciate them and believe in them.
Day 7: Reconnect with a long lost friend
Reach out to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while. A simple “Hey, I was thinking about you!” can mean a lot.
Embracing Connection in a Busy World
In the chaos of modern life, we must take intentional steps to connect with friends who enrich our lives. By prioritizing quality time, utilizing technology, and planning events, we can nurture meaningful relationships. In the novel, 'Mixed', Farrah and Corrina made it a priority to stay connected. Amidst careers, families, taking care of aging parents and everything else that life required of them, they found time to call, text, meet up at Shanty Hollow Lake once a month for lunch and once in a while, they took a vacation together. Remember, even small moments of interaction can significantly impact overall happiness. Make an effort to seize these moments and cherish the friendships that make life enjoyable. Take the challenge, leave a comment and let me know about how it goes for you!

What a great idea! Taking you up on this challenge….will be in touch!
